Heartprint Resources
a nonprofit organization committed to supporting local foster children and the families who care for them.
“Formerly known as Henderson County Foster Parents Association.”
Heartprint Resource Center
When a child enters foster care, everything can change overnight, and often, they arrive with very few belongings. Heartprint Resources exists to help bridge that gap by providing immediate,
practical support to foster and kinship families when they need it most.
Through our Resource Center, families can access clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene items, baby supplies, books, toys, and other essentials at no cost. Our goal is simple: to help children feel safe, comfortable, and cared for from the very beginning of placement and beyond.
Beyond material support, we walk alongside families through training opportunities, community connection, and ongoing support designed to strengthen placements and reduce isolation for caregivers.
In 2025, Heartprint Resources served 524 children, distributed more than 2,700 pieces of clothing and shoes, and provided 978 meals through programs and family support events.
In addition to clothing and shoes, we provide an assortment of other items, including cribs, strollers, car seats, beds, highchairs, and baby gear.
Our Resource Center also serves as a welcoming space for training and support for both foster and kinship families, ensuring they have access to the information and resources needed to provide the best care possible.
Immediate Needs
We respond quickly to urgent needs for foster and kinship families through our Amazon Wish List, providing essential items like clothing, diapers, and hygiene supplies when they’re needed most.
Each month, foster and kinship families gather for Foster Chat, a support group where they can slow down, share a meal, and simply be together. Dinner and childcare are provided so caregivers can come as they are, take a breath, and not feel like they have to hold it all alone.
It’s a warm, welcoming space where people can talk honestly, feel understood, and be reminded they’re not alone in this journey. Older children and teens also have a place to connect with others their age who are walking through similar experiences, helping them feel seen, supported, and a little less alone.
